About the Author

Alan Cullen

The author is a retired magistrate/coroner/barrister who lives in Sydney with his wife. He has three adult daughters.

Apart from his interest in writing, he has lately become enamoured with the frustrating pastime of competition golf. He also swims laps to battle an increasing waistline.

Having spent most of his working life in and out of courtrooms, he has always been an ardent fan of courtroom dramas, both in film and novel form. Classics such as To Kill a Mockingbird, Witness for the Prosecution, and Anatomy of a Murder are not only his favourites, but also perfect examples of the enduring fascination most everyone has with this genre. At his bench farewell the Chief Magistrate commented that after more than twenty years on the bench, he was regarded as being (amongst other qualities) contemplative, plain-talking and laconic. Not such bad attributes for a struggling writer.
